Intel X25-M Solid State Disk
I installed an Intel X25-M Solid State Disk into my machine this evening. Newegg had them on sale, so I ordered two of them!
Things to remember: 1. Update the firmware to the latest version!
2. Make sure you read the instructions on updating the firmware, if you don't, you will be reading them when the update utility can't find your new SSD!
3. Install the Intel SSD Toolbox, it will keep your drive running nicely.
I ghosted my 3 disk raid 0 array over to the new SSD. It took about 30 minutes to move 60 gigs of data over. I benched the new SSD after all was said and done and got an impressive 268 read and 85 write. The drives are rated from Intel to read at 275, and write at 75. Being that I have the disk 3/4 full, the write speeds were just under, but very acceptable. A lot of the reviews I have seen on these drives is that 85 write is normal after flashing them with the latest firmware.
Definitely a great buy, I am putting the other one into my laptop.

Disk Failure!
Our VMware ESXi server had a disk failure this weekend. What a pain in the ass! We had to take down all my guest machines, rip out the disk cage and install the new disk. Rebuilding the array was simple enough, RAID 10 is the shizzle! Here is what the 3Ware command line controller management looks like in VMware ESXi.
